MEADVILLE, Pa.  – The freshman and junior classes led the way in Saturday afternoon's big 4-1 win at Allegheny College. Kenyon Men's Soccer wielded three times as many shots as the Gators and it paid dividends in the Lords' first North Coast Athletic Conference win of the season. Tony Amolo and Rei Mitsuyama each put up a goal and an assist in their eighth overall victory.

Allegheny made haste to score the first goal of the contest when the Gators penetrated deep into Kenyon territory. Spencer Meschter dumped off a pass to his left, finding Brian Graham inside the 18-yard line for a quick shot to the lower-left corner of the Lords' cage. The goal was scored in the sixth minute, but Kenyon would hold the Gators scoreless for the remaining 84 minutes.

Mitsuyama tied up the game in the 25th minute with a well-placed, close-range shot off of a feed from Amolo. The goal was the junior's fourth of the season and started the ball rolling for the Lords' offense.

Kenyon (8-3-1, 1-0-1 NCAC) kept putting pressure on the Gators, mounting 12 shots in the opening half. In the 34th minute, another of those 12 found the back of the net, this time off of the foot of the freshman, Amolo. The Amolo-Mitsuyama connection struck again when Amolo played the ball into the box and ripped a shot inside the left post. The goal, Amolo's sixth of the year, gave Kenyon the lead that was played into the half.

Both of Kenyon's insurance goals came later in the contest when Alex Christoff and Jordan Glassman made sure the Gators stayed down and out. Christoff benefitted from a pass by Nate Petrou, leading to his third goal of the year in the 80th minute. Glassman continued to pour on goals at will with his team-leading seventh tally with 2:28 remaining in the game.

The Lords limited Allegheny to just seven shots in the match compared to their 21 taken. Only two of those made it on goal where Sam Clougher came in to make one save. His counterpart across the pitch, John Lichina, made seven saves despite four goals allowed. Kenyon also held the edge in corner kicks, 9-5.

Kenyon's season continues on in conference play when they hit the road again next Saturday, Oct. 12, to play The College of Wooster. The Lords and Fighting Scots will kick off at 4 p.m.
