GAMBIER, Ohio  – Alex Bair and Ansen Burr teamed up for the final four goals of the second half to help Kenyon College overtake the Oberlin College, 13-11, at Mavec Field on Thursday afternoon. The duo combined for the fourth and final lead change of the game while the defense kept the Yeowomen at bay in the final 13 minutes of play en route to the Ladies' third win of the season.

Windy and snowy conditions did not halt the onslaught of offense delivered by both teams in the first half that totaled 14 goals. Kenyon lit up the scoreboard early by jumping out to an early 3-0 after 8:24 of play. Emily Nichols scored the last two goals of that series in nearly identical fashion when Leah Sack found her streaking down the middle and each both shot found the back of the net.

Oberlin rallied back with four unanswered goals, leaning on a pair of free position shots to take a one-score advantage. After Oberlin took a 5-4 lead later in the first half, Kenyon applied the pressure and retook the lead with two goals in less than one minute of time, both coming directly off of draws controlled by Jane Symmes. Kenyon extended their lead to as many as three goals before Oberlin's final score of the first half under the 30-second mark drew the Yeowomen within two, 8-6.

Though the second half did not feature the same goal production, a flurry of lead changes kept many at Mavec Field on their feet despite being bundled up. Oberlin was quick to close the gap, tying the game at nine and soon thereafter took a 10-9 lead with Grace Barlow's third goal of the game. Once the Yeowomen gained their first advantage of the second half, the lead changed three times before the final horn sounded.

Burr led a late charge to tie the game at both 10 and 11 goals each with a pair of unassisted scores in a three-minute span. With both sides staring down an 11-11 score, Bair took over with two unanswered goals to help the Ladies pull away with a 13-11 score. Bair buried her third goal of the game with 7:32 remaining before the match turned into a defensive standstill over nearly six minutes of action on the field before Bair tallied the score that sealed a win for the Ladies.

Bair tied her season high with a total of four goals scored on eight shot attempts and went 1-for-2 on free position shots against the Yeowomen. Four Ladies scored a pair of goals in the total team effort that lead to their third win of the season. Senior Leah Sack led the team with four assists.

Kenyon (3-1) will play their next two games on the road against Otterbein University (March 27) in non-conference action before returning to conference play against Wittenberg University (April 2).
