GAMBIER, Ohio – Alex Bair and Jane Symmes both rang up six goals and guided the Kenyon College women's lacrosse team to a 20-10 victory over the Allegheny College Gators during Saturday's North Coast Athletic Conference contest at Mavec Field.

Although that duo directed the Kenyon offense, it was the senior combo of Emily Nichols and Leah Sack that stole the show. Nichols registered four goals against Allegheny to give her 34 for the season and 166 for her career. That career mark moved her past Amanda Drummond and into second place among Kenyon's all-time leading goal scorers. Sack, who already broke a couple of Kenyon records earlier this season, dished out six assists against the Gators. That output gave her 43 assists for the season, which is both a Kenyon and an NCAC record, as well as 144 assists for her career, also Kenyon and NCAC records.

Allegheny (6-5, 0-4 NCAC) took Kenyon by surprise early in the game. The Gators scored on five of their first six shots and built a 5-4 lead at the 21:28 mark of the first half. Symmes then caught fire for the Ladies and that was all she wrote for the Gators. She pumped in two straight goals to give Kenyon its first lead (6-5) with 15:37 showing on the clock. Those tallies sparked an eight-goal run for the Ladies, who cruised into halftime with a 12-5 advantage. Symmes, a freshman, tacked on two more goals in the run, while freshman Ansen Burr notched a goal and two assists before the break.

At the start of the second half, Allegheny again began quickly, but faded after a short flurry. The Gators scored three straight times and closed the gap to 14-9, but this time around Bair responded for the Ladies (7-2, 3-1 NCAC). The junior fired in three straight unassisted scores, which all but sealed the Kenyon victory.

Outside of those two Allegheny surges, the Ladies dominated most aspects of the game. They outshot the Gators (40-18) and also held distinct margins in ground balls (31-20) and draw controls (20-12).

Additional Kenyon offense came from Katherine Lang, who scored twice, and Amy Morgan who had one goal and one assist.
