GAMBIER, Ohio  – Led by Emily Nichols' four goals and by 10 points from Leah Sack, the Kenyon College women's lacrosse team downed The College of Wooster Fighting Scots, 14-8, at Mavec Field on Saturday afternoon. Sack tied her own single-game assist mark while nearly matching another career-high as part of the Ladies' win that improved them to 5-1 in North Coast Athletic Conference play.

Jane Symmes scored the first of her three goals on the day to get Kenyon on the board first. Her three goals helped her surpass the 30-goal plateau for the season.

Closing in on the 22-minute mark, Wooster's Clare Nelson-Johnson scored two consecutive goals less than 20 seconds apart to help give the Scots a short-lived lead. Symmes, Alex Bair, and Emily Nichols then combined to score three unanswered goals and tip the scale back in the Ladies' favor, 4-2, with 15:47 to play in the first half.

The Ladies scored four of the first five goals after coming out of halftime with an 8-5 lead, further distancing themselves from the Scots by five scores. Four different Kenyon players had a hand in extending the lead with Amy Morgan joining in on the scoring with her 15th goal of the season. With just over 12 minute to go, the Ladies trio of Bair, Sack, and Nichols put together the team's second string of three connective goals and put the game out of reach.

Sack tied a career-high in assists in a single game, ironically doing so against the same team and nearly three years to the day. The senior tallied nine helpers against the Scots on Saturday, matching her previous best she recorded on April 24, 2010 against Wooster a 20-8 Ladies' win. On that day, she also set a single-game points high (11) and was just one point away from matching that on Saturday afternoon.

Nichols led both sides with four goals, while Symmes and Bair each tallied three.

Meredith Bentsen made five saves and earned the win. Her goalkeeper counterpart, Wooster's Shawna Ferris, came into the contest with just 46 goals allowed and a 7.00 goals-against average, but took the loss after being tagged for 14 goals.

Kenyon (9-2, 5-1 NCAC) will play its final two regular-season contests on the road against Denison University on April 24 and DePauw University on April 27.
