GREENCASTLE, Ind.  – Sydney Carney-Knisely's lone blemish in the sixth minute against nationally-ranked DePauw University was all that was necessary for the Tigers to pull away with a 1-0 victory. The Ladies' offense failed to land a shot on goal, leading to a defensive struggle to the bitter end of Saturday's match. Kenyon falls to 3-3 overall on the season despite the defense posting a strong start to the season.

The first shot taken in the match landed in the back of the net. Unfortunately, the shot was taken by DePauw's Paige Henry and ended up being the lone goal of the match between the two teams. The goal was Henry's first of the season and went unassisted.

DePauw won the battle for shots taken, outshooting the Ladies 18-3 and landing nine of those on goal. Carney-Knisely stood on her head, making eight saves on the day.

The Kenyon offense did not any of their three shots on goal, making an easy day for Tiger goalkeeper Maggie Steele.

DePauw (2-3, 1-0 NCAC) entered the match ranked No. 16 in the nation and earned their first conference win of the season.

Despite the loss, Kenyon has now allowed just one goal in each of their last five games, resulting in a 3-2 record in that time. In their three wins, the offense has exploded for 15 goals thus outscoring their opponents 15-5.

Kenyon (3-3, 1-1) will play its first home match of the season on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at McBride Field against Ohio Wesleyan University in a North Coast Athletic Conference matchup.
