GAMBIER, Ohio – The Kenyon College women's lacrosse team had eight different players score at least one goal during Sunday morning's 16-0 rout of the visiting Washington and Jefferson College Presidents. Senior Amy Morgan and junior Caroline Shipman headed up the list with three goals apiece.

Morgan and Shipman set the tone early, as they both scored within the game's first 80 seconds. Ansen Burr tacked on another tally and the Ladies held a 3-0 lead before two minutes ticked off the game clock. By the time Morgan and Shipman each scored their second goals, the Ladies had a 6-0 lead at the 19:07 mark of the first half.

Burr bagged another goal in the first half and Kate Lang scored on consecutive possessions to give Kenyon leads of 10-0 and 11-0. Shipman then fired in her final score of the day off an assist from Gia Biaggi, who also had a goal by this point. That brought the Ladies into the break with a 12-0 lead.

Shipman added assists in each half and ended the game with a total of five points. She now leads the team with 18 goals, six assists, and 24 points through six games. Morgan, who also inked three goals and two assists against the Presidents, has 17 goals, four assists, and 21 points on the season.

With the huge lead and a lack of any kind of offense from Washington & Jefferson, a first-year program, Kenyon was able to deploy all of its healthy reserves. No matter who was on the field, Kenyon dominated. The Ladies out-shot the Presidents 34-2, held a 17-6 advantage in groundballs, and won 14 of 17 draw controls.

Joining Burr and Lang with two goals apiece for Kenyon were Susie Gurzenda and Abby Coleman. Biaggi had one and so did Alex Bair. While the Ladies' offense held possession for most of the game, Meredith Bentsen and Indigo Eisendrath split time as Kenyon's goalkeepers. Neither one, however, was tested. Both shots that Washington & Jefferson took were off the mark and didn't allow for a save chance.

Kenyon improved to 5-1 with the win, while Washington and Jefferson fell to 0-3.
