DELAWARE, Ohio – The Kenyon College women's lacrosse team out-scored host Ohio Wesleyan University, 8-3, in the second half of Sunday's North Coast Athletic Conference game. The Ladies also scored four of the game's last five goals to seal a 13-9 victory and end a brief two-game slide.

The Ladies (7-3, 1-2 NCAC) found themselves trailing throughout most of the first half. Kate Lang scored the game's first goal, her 13th of the season for Kenyon, but the Battling Bishops scored the next four and made it to the halftime break with a 6-5 advantage. Two of Ohio Wesleyan's six first-half goals were scored during man-up situations that succeeded a pair of Kenyon yellow cards.

Kenyon made the correct adjustments at halftime and dominated the second half of play. Within the first ten minutes after the break, junior Caroline Shipman scored twice. Ansen Burr and Alex Bair scored single tallies in between Shipman's goals and the Ladies moved ahead 9-6 with roughly 20 minutes left on the clock.

Ohio Wesleyan (6-5, 1-2 NCAC) answered with two straight goals, but Shipman and Burr stepped up for the Ladies again and pushed Kenyon's cushion back out to three at 11-8. Shipman ended up with four goals on the day, while Burr chipped in with two.

The Ladies' top offensive player was Bair, a senior who notched a game-high five goals and complemented them with two assists. Her final two goals were scored during the game's last eight minutes and sealed the win for the Ladies. Bair now has 28 goals and nine assists on the season. Those totals rank second on the team only to Shipman's 30 goals and ten assists.

In front of the Kenyon cage, junior Meredith Bentsen struggled in the first half play, but bounced back with a solid second-half showing. She yielded six goals on 12 shots over the first 30 minutes of play, and then gave up just three goals on nine shots over the next 30 minutes. In all, Bentsen made nine saves, giving her a total of 72 for the year.
