GAMBIER, Ohio – After winning the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament on May 7, the Kenyon College women's lacrosse team is set to host the first and second rounds of the 2022 NCAA Women's Lacrosse Tournament. On Saturday, Aurora University and Rhodes College square off at 1 p.m. on the Field at Benson Bowl.

Under head coach Christina Fried, Aurora finished the regular season with a 14-5 overall record and a 6-0 mark in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC), winning the regular-season and tournament titles. The Spartans are led by the powerful duo of NACC Midfielder of the Year Monique Gibson and NACC Offensive Player of the Year Bailey Simpson. Together, the pair combines for 113 goals and 44 assists, totaling 157 points. Taylor Sims, the NACC Defensive Player of the Year, heads an Aurora defense that allows just 7.5 goals per game.

Rhodes enters the NCAA Tournament as the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) regular-season and tournament champions. The Lynx wrapped up their regular season with a 14-3 record, 6-0 in the SAA, under SAA Coach of the Year Meghan Keelan. Baylee Barker, the SAA Offensive Player of the Year, leads a powerful offense with 70 goals. Rhodes also features the NCAA Division III leader in assists, Emily Bruner. Bruner registered an assist in all but one game for the Lynx, including nine in three different contests. The Rhodes' offense averages 19 goals per game while only allowing eight.

The winner of the Spartans and Lynx moves on to take on the host Kenyon Ladies at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

The Ladies, mentored by North Coast Athletic Conference Coach of the Year Jess Good, come off an NCAC Tournament Championship over rival Denison University. Caroline O'Neil, the NCAC Offensive Player of the Year, leads the Ladies in goals, assists, and points. During Kenyon's regular-season and tournament titles, O'Neil scored in all but one game, registering two assists in that lone contest. The Ladies come in averaging just over 14 goals per game while the defense, ranked 14th nationally in scoring defense, holds opponents to 7.12 goals per game. Part of Kenyon's defensive success comes from first-year goalkeeper Nola Garand. Garand ranks eighth in Division III with a 6.98 goals-against average. In 15 games, the first-year racked up 93 saves.

Ticket prices for this weekend are $10 for adults, $5 for students, and $3 for children 12 and under.
