Conant, Soric named All-Region honorees

NEW ORLEANS, La. -- All-Region honors for the 2023 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season were announced on Friday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) following the conclusion of the regular season. Kenyon College senior Erika Conant and sophomore Paula Soric were among the honorees in the Great Lakes Region.

In order to claim a spot on an All-Region team, an individual had to be a top-five performer in an event within their region. Additionally, members of a relay gained recognition if they were a top-three ranked team within their region.

For Conant, the All-Region honor was a first. During North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Championship competition earlier this month, Conant rang up a score of 3,296 points in the heptathlon. That total was the fifth-best in the region this season.

For Soric, the All-Region recognition was the fourth in her career. She made both the indoor and outdoor lists in each of her first two years at Kenyon. This time around, her award was based on her triple jump performances. Her best leap of the season measured a Kenyon-record 38-7½ (11.77 meters), which she accomplished at the NCAC Championship meet. Not only was that distance the second-best in the Great Lakes Region, it also ranked as the 30th-best among all NCAA Division III athletes.
