Six Owls secure All-NCAC spots

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) announced its annual All-NCAC men's lacrosse teams on Wednesday, and six Kenyon College Owls earned spots on the 2025 ledger. David Chintala, Adam Hall, Rollins Heath, and Thomas Nelson all secured spots on the All-NCAC Second Team, while Owen Breen and Cole George were tabbed with third-team honors.

All four second-team honorees made an All-NCAC appearance for at least the third straight season. Chintala, a junior, has been an all-conference selection in each of his first three seasons, taking a third-team spot as a first-year before a second-team selection as a sophomore. Hall, another junior, has also been selected for three All-NCAC awards, bookending last year's third-team selection with two second-team spots. Heath has made the league's ledger for the last three seasons, and the senior repeated as a second-team honoree after finding himself on the All-NCAC First Team as a sophomore. Nelson, another senior, has nailed down All-NCAC honors in each of his four years in Gambier. The faceoff specialist has three second-team selections and was last season's NCAC Specialist of the Year as a first-teamer. Both Breen, a junior, and George, a first-year, are first-time all-conference honorees.

Chintala started all 16 of Kenyon's games and led the Owls with 55 points and 41 goals. Amongst NCAC individuals, the attackman ranks sixth with 2.56 goals per game and eighth with 3.44 points per game. Chintala also corralled 30 ground balls, tying for fourth on the team, and caused five turnovers. The junior captain broke Kenyon's career goals record this season, and he is tied for fifth in all-time points.

Hall handled Kenyon's goalkeeping duties, starting all 16 games in the cage. The junior leads the league in save percentage with a career-high .561 mark, and he is second in both saves (193) and saves per game (12.06) while posting the conference's fifth-best goals-against average (10.53). Hall also hauled in 43 ground balls, Kenyon's second-best mark, and added a goal for good measure.

Heath suited up for all 16 of Kenyon's games, and the senior captain led the team with 21 assists. He finished with 39 points, ranking third on the team, and his 18 goals ranked fourth. The midfielder also led the team with three game-winning goals, and he helped out with 25 ground balls and six caused turnovers.

Nelson nailed down the faceoff x for the Owls, leading the team with 236 wins in 351 tries. His total wins rank second in the NCAC, and his .672 percentage ranks fourth. The senior captain played all 16 games, and he gathered 159 ground balls to lead the team and rank second in the league. Nelson also tied a career-high with seven points, scoring four goals and adding three assists. The faceoff specialist has set all-time records for both Kenyon and the NCAC in career faceoff wins (902), faceoff win percentage (.685), and ground balls (619). In the NCAA Division III record book, he ranks 13th all-time in ground balls, is tied for 13th in all-time faceoff wins, and ranks 24th all-time in faceoff winning percentage.

Both Breen and George did their work on the defensive side for an Owls team that is tied for the second-fewest goals allowed of all NCAC teams with 159. Kenyon's 9.97 goals against average ranks fifth in the NCAC, and the Owls are second in penalty-killing percentage at .769, allowing just nine man-up goals in 39 such situations. Breen and George tied one another for Kenyon's second-most caused turnovers at 13 apiece. Both defensemen took the field in all 16 games, and George gathered 22 ground balls while Breen brought in 20.

Overall, the Owls finished the 2025 season with a 10-6 overall record and a 5-3 mark in NCAC action, finishing in a three-way tie for the third-best record in the league.
