Owls earn CSC Academic All-District honors

GAMBIER, Ohio -- Three members of the Kenyon College men's lacrosse team were named to the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (CSC) NCAA Division III At-Large Academic All-District Team. Announced Tuesday, the Kenyon trio included Owen Breen, David Chintala, and Rollins Heath

In order to be considered for the At-Large Academic All-District Team, a nominee had to be on the team's active roster for at least two years and had to possess at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average. Additionally, for lacrosse, the nominee had to compete in 90 percent of the team's games and/or had to start 66 percent of those games.

The CSC At-Large program includes nominees from 10 different NCAA men's sports (two of which Kenyon offers), and limits each institution to six nominees. Kenyon filled that allotment with the three lacrosse honorees, as well as three more honorees from the golf program.

The inclusion on the CSC At-Large Academic All-District Team was a first for Breen, but the second time for both Chintala and Heath.

Breen, a junior defenseman, started all 16 games for the Owls during the 2025 season. He scooped up 20 ground balls and ranked second on the team with 13 caused turnovers. He was part of a Kenyon defense that allowed an average of just 9.94 goals per game. At the end of the season, Breen was selected to the All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Third Team.

Chintala and Heath were both 2025 All-NCAC Second Team selections. Chintala, a junior attack, led the Owls in scoring with 55 points on a team-best 41 goals and 14 assists. His goal total and his goals per game average both ranked sixth best among all players in the conference. During the season, Chintala set the Kenyon program's career record for goals scored (152) and moved within 25 points of tying the Kenyon record for career points.

Heath, a senior on the 2025 team, excelled in the midfield, collecting multiple all-conference, all-region, and all-American awards. This past season, he generated 39 points on 18 goals and a team-high 21 assists. Three of his goals were game-winners, giving him a total of 10 game-winners for his career.

Heath graduated in May with a degree in economics. Breen, a chemistry major, and Chintala, a physics major, will return next year to continue their work in the classroom and on the field.
