Kenyon women collect final ranks from ITA

GAMBIER, Ohio -- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association released Wednesday its final national and regional rankings for the 2024-25 season. As a team, the Kenyon College Owls claimed the No. 22 spot in the national ranking and the No. 5 spot in the Central Region ranking.

It marked the second straight season the Kenyon team concluded its year with a No. 22 national rank. Within the regional chart, the Owls moved up one spot from last year's No. 6 position.

The 2024-25 Kenyon team produced a 16-7 overall record and a spotless 6-0 mark within North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) action. The Owls claimed both the NCAC regular-season and tournament titles, earning an automatic berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament. Once on the national stage, the Owls handed No. 25-ranked Sewanee a 4-3 defeat in the first round. Host and No. 9-ranked Washington University in Saint Louis then eliminated the Owls in the second round by a 4-0 count.

The ITA also released Wednesday its rankings for singles and doubles players. Kenyon junior Eleni Lazaridou made an appearance on both lists. For singles play, Lazaridou, who posted a 17-3 record, earned a No. 13 national rank and a No. 3 regional rank. For doubles, she, along with first-year Hana Nouaime, claimed a No. 29 national rank and a No. 4 regional rank. That Kenyon pairing combined to generate a 15-6 record this past season.
