Soric highlights Owls’ USTFCCCA Academic awards

NEW ORLEANS  – For the 16th time over the last 18 seasons, the Kenyon College women's track and field program earned the distinction of being named an All-Academic Team by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Additionally, for the fourth straight season, recent graduate Paula Soric was named a USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete.

To be eligible for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honor, the student-athletes on the team's 2024-25 roster had to produce a combined cumulative grade point average of 3.10 or better. The Owls surpassed that mark easily, posting an impressive grade point average of 3.62.

To gain the individual USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete award, a student-athlete had to compile a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.30 and had to compete in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship and/or had to finish the regular season ranked in the national top-50 in an individual event or ranked in the national top-35 in a relay event.

Soric, a jumper who earned 2025 All-America status in the outdoor triple jump, checked the boxes on all those criteria. At outdoor nationals, she placed ninth in the triple jump, setting a program record with a leap of 39-8 ½  (12.10 meters). She also excelled in the classroom, where she earned a degree in neuroscience. She is the only student-athlete in program history to earn the USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete award for four consecutive years.

The 2024-25 Owls track and field team was coached by Julius Higginbotham, who just completed his fourth year at Kenyon.
