Kenyon men restart season with shutout win

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Kenyon College men's tennis team got its 2026 spring semester schedule started on Sunday with a convincing 7-0 win against the Hornets at Kalamazoo College. The Owls swept all three doubles matches, as well as all six singles matches.

The Kenyon men posted their first match win of the day after Jay Kedar Dixit and Rohan Sriram combined to pitch a 6-0 shutout at No. 3 doubles. A few minutes later, Maximo Llamas Castellanos and Juozas Cioladis duplicated that same score at No. 1 doubles, clinching the doubles team point as they knocked off Kalamazoo's pairing of Cameron Crosby and Alex Fleming.

Eliezer Gonzalez and Alejandro Gonzalez then finished off the doubles sweep with a 6-2 win at No. 2.

In singles play, Kedar Dixit was first to the finish line again. He knocked off Will Seymour, 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 4 match, giving Kenyon a 2-0 lead on the team scoreboard. Alejandro Gonzalez and Cioladis finished their singles matches right about the same time, turning in two more Kenyon wins and giving the Owls a 4-0 lead. Gonzalez recorded a 6-1, 6-3 victory at No. 2 and Cioladis posted a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 3.

The clinching point came at No. 1 singles, where Llamas Castellanos finished off Cameron Crosby, 6-2, 6-4.

With the team win already in hand, Kenyon completed the sweep with Stylianos Papamichael winning at No. 6 by a 6-0, 6-1 count and Sriram holding on for a 7-5, 7-6 (7-3) win at No. 5 against Sebastian Courtright.
