Kenyon picks up conference win before road trip

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – Playing in its final match before kicking off a spring break road trip that will include nine matches across Florida and Virginia, the Kenyon College men's tennis team took on Wabash College Saturday afternoon in a North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) tilt. 

The Owls made quick work slaying the Little Giants, winning 7-0 to remain unbeaten for the season and in the NCAC. 

Jay Kedar Dixit and Paulo Pocasangre Kreling got things started off for Kenyon in the No. 2 doubles flight, taking home a 6-2 winner. Juozac Cioladis paired up with Maximo Llamas Castellanos in the No. 1 flight, where the duo came away with another 6-2 win. The No. 3 flight was the closest of the doubles matches, but the Owls still prevailed as Stylianos Papamichael and Rohan Sriram combined to take down their opponent 6-4. 

In singles, Cioladis took care of business first in the No. 3 flight, dispatching his opponent 6-1, 6-1. Llamas Castellanos finished second of six matches, winning 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 2 flight. Over in the first flight, Pocasangre Kreling came away with a 6-3, 6-1 win. 

Finishing fourth was the No. 4 flight, where Sriram won the first set 6-2 before battling to a 7-5 win in the second set to take the match. Sree Kondaveeti added a win in the No. 5 flight, where he took care of business 6-1, 6-4, before Papamichael completed the sweep with a 6-3, 6-2 win in the sixth and final flight. 

Kenyon will face off against Allegheny College on Wednesday, March 4 at 11:00 a.m. from Orlando, Florida to start the team's spring break road trip.
