After only posting three winning seasons from 1959 through 1971, the 1972 men's lacrosse team produced an incredible turnaround. Under the guidance of coach Bill Heiser, the Lords' 12-1 record marked a nine-game improvement over the 1971 squad. Kenyon reached a ranking as high as 19th in the nation, claimed the USILA's Midwest Division championship, and won the Midwest Lacrosse Association title over schools such as Bowling Green, Michigan State, and Ohio State.
