A rare two-sport athlete who excelled in both arenas, Heather Spencer was twice named MVP of the basketball team and once named MVP of the volleyball team. On the basketball court, Spencer scored 987 career points. At the time of her graduation, that total ranked third-best in program history. She also had 316 career assists, which was a program record. She was voted the 1988 NCAC Player of the Year. On the volleyball court, her total of 2,418 career assists was a Kenyon record in 1988 and still ranks third-best all-time. She helped deliver Kenyon's first two NCAC volleyball crowns, was a three-time All-NCAC first-team pick, and a 1987-88 Academic All-American.
