Ed Grzybowski's football accomplishments have stood the test of time. An exceptional linebacker, he still owns the Kenyon records for interceptions in a single season (7) and in a career (14). Grzybowski was a four-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference honoree, including first-team selections in his junior and senior years. In his day, accurate statistics were scarce, however he didn't need paper to prove his worth. Teammate Mark Rakoczy '73 wrote, "Ed was the best defensive player we had at Kenyon. In fact, he was probably the best on the field for either team." Pat Riley '74 added, "If there was ever a Kenyon player who could have played at the Division I level, it was Ed."
