Greenberg made a huge impact as a member of the men's tennis program. In 2008, he posted a 33-2 record, the best single-season mark in team history. His remarkable run included a 22-match win streak, one that concluded with him winning the NCAA Division III Singles Championship.

Michael wound up with an 81-15 career singles record, which was a program record at the time.

Throughout his collegiate career, he was a two-time Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-America singles honoree, an ITA All-America doubles honoree and twice won the ITA's Scholar-Athlete Award. He led Kenyon to four straight conference championships and was a three-time NCAC Player of the Year.
