Jeff Slade was Kenyon's MVP on the hardwood for four straight seasons. He was a four-time member of the All-Ohio Athletic Conference team and in 1962 became the first Kenyon athlete to receive the Dick Gregory award as the MVP of the OAC. For three consecutive seasons, he led all conference players in rebounding and scoring. He graduated as Kenyon's all-time leader in points (1,742) and rebounds (1,209). Slade then went on to play professionally for the Chicago Zephyrs in the National Basketball Association.
