Winner of a dozen All-America awards and three national event titles, Melissa Nelson was a versatile swimmer who helped lead the Ladies to four consecutive NCAA Championships.  She was a two-time national champ in the 400-yard individual medley. She won six conference titles and was named the NCAC Swimmer of the Year in both 1989 and 1990. She was also voted winner of the Coach’s Award and the Daniel G. Ray Memorial Trophy.
