Kenyon College Athletics

A two-time team MVP (1962, 1963), Joe Adkins still holds the College career pitching records for strikeouts (269) and earned run average (1.16). He concluded his final three years at Kenyon as a first-team All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection. Adkins' prowess was well noted beyond campus as he went on to play semi-pro ball and drew interest from numerous professional teams including the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Chicago Cubs, and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
