Dick Sloan succeeded in directing two of Kenyon's most successful athletic programs, swimming and tennis, from 1968 through 1975. He guided the Lords swim team to seven-consecutive Ohio Athletic Conference titles and a national showing as high as second-place, which came at the 1969 NCAA Championship meet. Overall, Sloan produced more than 50 All-American swimmers and eight national champions for the College. Sloan's tenure as tennis coach included an overall 48-25-1 dual meet record and the 1970 OAC title.
